February 27th, 2009 Comments off

Are you also struggling with the dilemma of popping pimples? If so, you’re not alone. There are a lot of opinions about this subject and it’s fair to say that it’s quite hard to come up with an ultimate answer. Some people say that it’s absolutely wrong to pop pimples. Others say that yes, you should get rid of them yourself. On the other hand there are available products for spot treatment, which claim to heal acne overnight. First, let’s take a look at the arguments for no popping.

You can certainly say that more people advice not to pop pimples. This is the opinion of a lot of dermatologists and people who experienced scarring because of past popping. The first drawback of popping pimples is a possibility of spreading bacteria, which can cause more pimples in the long run. The second most common point is related to the effects on the skin long after acne is gone. Scarring is a common side effect of popping pimples. It’s usually caused by trying to pop pimples that are not ready to be popped. Let’s see what are the positive points of popping pimples.

We have to remember that sometimes it may be ok to pop a pimple. Very few people can actually resist walking with a big white zit on their face. It can be very uncomfortable and that’s why letting go big white pimples can be a good idea. But I wouldn’t recommend going here too far and to leave every red pimple. A counterintuitive fact is that popping especially big and white pimples can help in healing acne faster. As always it’s important to not overdo it and not to force it. If the pimple isn’t ready to be popped don’t do it, because it can get worse. On the market there are available a few product for spot treatment that can help you in dealing with acne.

A company called Neutrogena makes a variety of products that ideally fit with our problem. For spot acne treatment a lot of people recommend On-the-spot Acne Treatment, that’s also available on Amazon. A big advantage of using such creams is their efficiency. Once you start using a good product you probably won’t have to think about popping pimples again. This can eliminate a possibility of scarring and certainly will reduce the anxiety associated with acne once you use it. Naturally the above methods have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Not popping pimples at all will leave you with anxiety and discomfort while overdoing popping pimples can worsen your acne and spread the bacteria. The most reasonable method seems to be spot treatment by using quality products. The debate about popping pimples itself will probably never end because there are a lot of opposite opinions about it. There’s just one thing that everybody agrees on. Using quality creams is the best move you can make.

What You Need to Know About Treating Adult Acne Cysts

February 24th, 2009 Comments off

It seems nowadays that each year acne is being discussed in media and mentioned on the Internet more often than it used to be in the past. Adult acne is no exception and this year we’ve seen numerous discussions on the forums about treating adult acne cysts. From the numerous cleansers and creams and lotions to the prescription medications and high tech solutions we’ve got a range of great products available. This article will discuss many excellent solutions that are available for you on the market today.

When you look for a product concerning adult acne cysts, there’s a big chance that you come across cleansers. These type of gels can contain granules or beads which should be avoided. Granules may work well for some people but can definitely worsen a sensitive skin. The only type of such gels that are recommended are made of pure liquid. While there are many advantages of using cleansers, you probably want to take a look at another category of products which are creams and lotions.

Typical skin care shops are full of different type of creams and lotions that treat a number of symptoms. You can use them to clean pores and make them smaller that results in reduced amount of oil being produced by your skin. Some creams and lotions fade acne scars and fine wrinkles too, therefore your skin will look even better. To spot treat a breakout it’s recommended to use products with benzoyl peroxide which are aimed for reducing bacteria and disinfection of skin. If the effects of the above products don’t satisfy you, there are still a few solutions left.

Like in every problem with our health you can find a bunch of pharmaceutical products available on prescription. The antibiotics like clindamycin or tetracycline help with fighting bacteria. Some of the drugs that deal with reducing blood pressure or contraceptives can help with balancing hormones and as a result decrease the creation of new cysts. But as has been stated above these are solutions available on prescription so you have to discuss them with your doctor. This is certainly a more serious solution as it involves taking medicaments, and not everybody will be happy to take antibiotics. But don’t worry because scientists came up with a forth option.

Hi technology solutions are still fairly new but open another range of possibilities that were not available a few years ago. Laser and pulsed light treatments are usually targeted on reducing scars and covering the effects of past acne. Blue light therapy on the other hand deals with acne-causing bacteria and is more appropriate for a person who has problems with new acne cysts. However the hi technology solutions are expensive and many people won’t be able to afford them, so it’s best to first try the products stated before.

As you can probably tell by now, these are some of the available products you can use in treating adult acne cysts, that can work for you too. Regardless of whether you will use cleansers or creams and lotions or maybe the more advanced products like laser treatments and prescribed antibiotics it’s important for you to choose a solution that fits you and your body. Treating adult acne cysts can be a challenge for a person but with an amazing range of products on the market today it’s best to pick up one solution, investigate everything associated with it and be patient to see the results.

Popping Pimples – Is it worth it anyway

February 16th, 2009 Comments off

Some people can’t resist walking around and knowing that they have something on their face. Nobody feels comfortable with acne and many people try to fix things up by themselves which is rarely a good idea. Pimples that are better off to be squeezed than untouched happen very rarely. Most of the time, you should keep your hands away from these red guys. But that looks like common knowledge, doesn’t it? So why does everybody do it anyway?

In my opinion popping pimples is somehow related to anxiety. A lot of people try to find pimples to squeeze, always looking to smooth up their skin. That has certainly something to do with the stress that a person has to deal with. Especially now, with the economical crisis we have to live with more uncertainty than before and we try to find a way to forget about all our problems. So when can you tell that it’s ok to pop a pimple?

First of all, if you happen to be under stress or any kind of anxiety, I’d recommend meditating a bit. Calming down and listening to your breath, listening to classical music is always good. All of the bad things you’re thinking about will probably never happen. As you will see, when you are in a peaceful state, you don’t have any temptation to touch your face.

You might want to pop a pimple if it’s got a white top and the puss is almost begging you to let it go. Only then you should clean your face and prepare a needle. Sterilizing everything gently prick and squeeze it and use alcohol to remove the bacteria.

Bottom line, popping pimples might be a result of a person being under stress and everybody should look at it from their own perspective. It might not be true in your case but in my experience these factors link together pretty well. An anxiety may be a result of acne as well. So I hope you will make your own conclusions about it and maybe resolve this problem with a different method like meditation.

When Can You Say That a Pimple is Ready to Pop?

February 16th, 2009 Comments off

Pimples can be one of the most annoying things that we struggle with on our skin. An immediate breakout may cause an anxiety or even depression. All the emotions associated with acne force us to try to “repair” our skin by popping pimples. But as you can imagine that is often not the best thing to do. Very often after an attempt of getting rid of premature pimples, our skin is looking much worse than before. How often have you wished that you hadn’t touched your skin? That’s why you should know, when is the right time to pop.

The major indicator of indentifying a ready to be popped pimple is the color. As a rule you shouldn’t touch red pimples because the fluid is still deep inside the skin and if you squeeze it, it will spread inside and create a cyst that won’t be as easy to get rid of. So what is the color of a mature pimple?

Generally you should be looking for pimples with a white top. That is a good indicator that the puss inside a pimple is ready to go out and it should be quite easy to let it go. Remember that ready to be popped pimples are EASY to pop. Don’t use force in dealing with your skin, this is very important.

Also don’t touch all the painful pimples. They need some time and cosmetic treatment to go away. Squeezing them won’t help so please resist that temptation, and walk away from the mirror. If you happen to have painful pimples you may want to go to the dermatologist to administer a cortisone injection that will possibly reduce scarring.

To sum it up, you should only look for popping white pimples and avoid especially red and painful pimples. Don’t force it, if the pimple doesn’t won’t to go, leave it or you’ll make it worse. If you have really painful pimples, the best thing is to go to the specialist. That way you’ll minimize the possibility of scarring.

How to Pop a Pimple?

February 16th, 2009 Comments off

Popping pimples has been a long thread for people for decades. You’ve probably read that you shouldn’t pop pimples at all because it will ultimately lead to scarring. Other articles advice you to get rid of big white pimples, so that it will help to heal these areas of your skin much faster. And this is what we will concentrate on in this article.

First and foremost, you have to remember that the only pimples that need to be squeezed are white pimples, which almost beg you to be popped. With that said you have to prepare tools that you’re going to use. That is a sharp needle, a pack of tissues and a bottle of alcohol.

Wash your face and hands to clean up all the makeup, oils and bacteria from the space around the ready to be popped pimple. Disinfect the needle by dipping it in the alcohol and apply some of that alcohol to your fingers and the pimple and dab it with some tissues to dry the area. Now we’re ready for the job.

Lightly prick the pimple’s white surface with the tip of your needle. Take two tissues and wrap it around your index fingers or thumbs and squeeze it gently from the sides with down in motion. Don’t force it. If the pimple doesn’t produce liquid, leave it. I know that it’s one of the hardest things to do, but if you continue squeezing a pimple that’s not ready to be popped, you can only make it worse.

After the puss is squeezed out of the pore, wipe it out with an alcohol soaked tissue. The alcohol will remove most of the bacteria and will make the wound heal faster.

As has been stated above, you should only take action on the pimples that are ready to be popped. This has to be emphasized because many people try to get rid of the red pimples by squeezing them, and while these pimples don’t produce any puss people get anxious and apply even more force and as a result make really bad scars. Try to keep the space around the pimple as clean as possible and remember to leave a pimple that’s not ready to be popped.
