Nodular acne

July 15th, 2009

Next to cystic pimples, nodular acne is likely the worst type of acne imaginable. Nodular acne is different from regular acne in two ways, the pimples are generally much bigger, and they generally last much, much longer. Nodular acne is denser, redder, and becomes more swollen than a normal pimple.

Preventing nodular acne is very difficult, so that makes being able to treat nodular acne much more important.

How to treat nodular acne:

  • The best thing that you can do is visit a dermatologist. They work with people in your situation all of the time and they will be able to prescribe you powerful nodular acne treatment that you could not buy over the counter.
  • It is important to remember to take nodular acne seriously. Do not try to pop nodular acne, and do not try to use any home remedies for it. You will most likely just make your situation worse.
  • The best way to treat nodular acne is to notice it early and to make an appointment with a dermatologist as quickly as possible. The earlier the better.
  • There are several different treatment options, including Isotretinoin and spironolactone, these drugs may or may not help your situation. Suggest these options when speaking with your dermatologist.
