Home remedies for acne

July 17th, 2009

There are dozens of potential “recipes” for a magical home remedy for acne. Some will likely work, some won’t, and some might even make your situation worse. If you are going to try to conjure up a special home remedy, make sure that all the ingredients are safe, you do not want to put yourself in harms way or make your situation any worse than it already is.

Although this is not necessarily a home remedy for acne, drinking carrot juice has been rumored to help acne. If you can stomach the taste of carrot juice, I encourage you to give this a try.

I wrote an article about toothpaste for acne a couple of weeks back. It is not the ideal treatment for acne and it will cause your skin to dry out if you leave it on too long, but it has been known to help many. It addition, it is cheap, which always helps.

I have heard rumors about many different potential natural home remedies working for people.

Orange peels have been known to help with acne. Dry oatmeal has been rumored to be an excellent home remedy for acne. Several sources report that cooking dry tea bags with basil, waiting for them to cool, and then applying them on your face does wonders. I have never tried this and I’ve never known anyone to try this, but the Internet doesn’t lie!

Feel free to experiment with different home remedies for acne, but remember that home remedies are no replacement for proper acne prevention and visits to the dermatologist.

Happy experimenting! Be safe…
