Spironolactone acne treatment
July 23rd, 2009
Spironolactone is an extremely cheap way to treat acne, usually in females. The Pro’s to Spironolactone acne treatment:
- Like I said earlier, Spironolactone treatment is very, very cheap, retailing at 5-20 dollars for a supply that will last you months. This is unheard of in the skin care industry.
- Spironolactone treatment works. After a couple of weeks you should see a significant improvement and your acne should stay at a dissipated state throughout the course of your treatment. This type of treatment does not work for everyone, but there is not treatment that does.
- Spironolactone is a great treatment for adult women suffering from acne especially.
Drawbacks to Spironolactone treatment
- Within the target demographic, adult women, many report that Spironolactone treatment simply had no impact on the severity of their acne. About one out of three will not see any improvement in their acne breakouts. But as cheap as this treatment is, it is hard not to at least give it a shot.
- In the beginning, Spironolactone can make acne breakouts more violent. The first week or so you may find that your acne gets worse.
- There are several serious side effects to Spironolactone treatment. You potassium levels could be altered, you could have trouble sleeping, you could get slightly dizzy… and there are other long term side effects resulting from this treatment.
The potential serious side effects you could get from Spironolactone treatment prohibit me from recommending this treatment, but it is very cheap and effective. Talk to your doctor before starting treatment.
