Accutane side effects
Accutane is a potentially great treatment for those suffering from moderate to serious acne, but it can come with serious side effects.
The most glaring, obvious, non debatable side effect from Accutane treatment is the potential for birth defects. If you are pregnant, or you are a woman that may potentially be pregnant soon, do not take Accutane under any circumstances! Accutane treatment with pregnant mothers can result in serious birth defects.
The most common side effects coming from Accutane are dryness and redness of the skin and slight irritation. You are going to get those side effects from just about every serious acne treatment, so I don’t think that is anything to worry about.
Less common, but therefore more serious side effects resulting from Accutane include: Chest pain, depression, fatigue, nausea, chronic headaches, thinning hair, and vomiting. Those are serious side effects. Although clearing up your acne definitely sounds appealing, it is only a cosmetic problem for the most part, it is not worth a serious setback to your health.
Accutane comes with side effects, but most serious acne products do. I’d recommend that you talk to your dermatologist or a doctor at the least before embarking Accutane treatment.
