Sodium sulfacetamide is mildly drying, nothing too serious, but you might notice that your skin is a little dryer after using it. Also it is not the best smelling acne treatment of all time, but the smell of your treatment should be the last thing that you worry about. Other than that there are no real major side effects which is a big plus.

Sodium sulfacetamide works, plain and simple. It does not work for everyone, but most people who have used it have noticed that their acne has improved after treatment. It works especially well for cystic acne.

The only real “con” about Sodium sulfacetamide is that it can be costly if your insurance plan does not cover a decent chunki of the cost of treatment.
