Laser resurfacing for acne

August 28th, 2009

I am personally not a big fan of laser resurfacing for an acne treatment for a couple of reasons:

  • It is expensive! You are going to end up paying between 3,000-5000 dollars for laser resurfacing treatment once everything is said and done. That is a lot of money. Even if it worked perfectly and I never had to worry abou acne again, which would never happen, it still would not be worth it. You can buy a beat up car for 5,000 dollars! Acne is a cosmetic problem, nothing more!
  • It hurts! Almost everyone I have talked to has noticed that they experienced intense pain during the procedure. If it was just a little bit of pain it would be no big deal with me, but you will be completely awake during a very painful experience.
  • It doesn’t always work! Think about it this way: You pay thousands of dollars for a laser resurfacing treatment, you go through a lot of pain, just to see that you had no progress or barely any progress? That is what happens to a lot of people.
  • Laser resurfacing treatment is simply not a good idea for almost everyone suffering from acne.
